Days between two dates
The calculator counts the days from the first date to the second without counting the first, the usual way to count a gap: from 1 to 10 March is 9 days. Choose to count the last day too when both days belong in the count, as for a leave or an application window. The same gap is also given in weeks and in years, months and days.
Adding and subtracting
Years and months are added first, keeping the day of the month: 15 March plus two months is 15 May. When a month has no such day, its last day is used, so 31 January plus one month is 28 February, or 29 February in a leap year. Weeks and days are added after that.
What it is useful for
Find how many days are left until an exam or a form’s last date, the date 90 days after a notification, or how long a period of service lasted. For your age on a date, use the age calculator.
